Game Tester
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a video game tester you have to find problems in games
and or coding. Video game or product testers may also be known as quality
control inspectors. These professionals verify that products meet certain
standards, and testers try out products to determine if there are any flaws.
For example, video game testers play games specifically to look for problems,
such as program glitches, broken applications or non-functioning visual
effects.
Education:
College Degree is required. Though there is no formal degree
in video game testing, employers may look for testers with a degree in computer
science, computer programming or graphic design. Having a degree in these
subjects may give some testers the edge over testers who don't have an
educational background in computers or design, according to
Stateuniversity.com.
Salary: Video game tester salaries start around $18,000 and
top out around $55,000 annually for experienced lead testers.
