KARMA WILL TAKE CARE OF ITSELF.

" It's not about how to achieve your dreams . It's about how you lead your life the RIGHT WAY, the karma (destiny, fortune, good luck ) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you."
Dr. Randy Pausch
What Randy is trying to tell us is that it's not about how you get to your dreams how how you did it, but it is how through out all the time trying you did the right thing, you choose the right and treated others like how you want to be treated. Once you've done that then karma will come back to you and you will accomplish your dream. This is a good quote because it shows how to complete your dream goals it will be hard but you need the go the right way in order to get what you want, like doing good in school, don't do drugs, and respect everyone. Don't go the wrong way and get F's om all your classes, doing drugs, joining gangs, and not respecting people. So always choose the right way and what your dream is will come true.

Educating the body, mind, and character

"Of all the work that is done or that can be done for our country, the greatest is that educating the Body, the Mind, and above all the Character, giving spiritual and moral training to those who in a few years are themselves to decide the destinies of the nation."
Theodore Roosevelt
What this quote means to me is that the best thing we can do in our lives is to educate the next generation to do the right thing. This is important because once that we are gone the next generation decides what happens to the world. They will be the ones running the place. So we need to educate them to be good and to choose the right path always. We need to be able to teach them how to maintain a healthy body. We need to teach them how to have a healthy mind and above all a good character. This is important so that they can be good and they can communicate well with others.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteer Opportunities
Los Angeles, CA 90045
(818) 895-7380
They offer nationwide volunteer opportunities, including organizations offering relief from the terrorist attacks. For local opportunities, either call or go to their Website, click on the volunteer button and follow instructions. It’ll prompt you to enter your zip code. The search engine pulls up opportunities from a five to 60 mile radius from your home. If you call them, they send you a newsletter for free. The newsletter has ideas about places to volunteer.
4650 W. Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles, CA
(323) 669-2371
Teens 15 and older can volunteer here after completing a three-hour orientation. Only those 18 and older can have direct contact with the patients. Teens younger than 18 can still help out by greeting patients and their families at the front desk and doing clerical work. The hospital asks for a minimum of a six month commitment plus 100 hours of service. Teens work a minimum of two to four hours a week, depending on the department and can choose their schedule. After service is completed, the hospital will write a letter to give students either high school or college credit.

I find this interesting because you can work and not get paid. So like you can graduate from high school.

Body-Mind-Spirit

"Take responsibility for your own body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being."
Mr. Haymore

What I understand about this quote is that everybody takes control of their body mid and spirit. Like somebody else can control what you eat. Or what your mind is thinking. Or what your feeling. You your self takes care of that. Nobody else but you. And it’s really your responsibility to take care of that. Not your friend, neither your mom, only you. An example would be saying no to drugs, so you'll have a clean and healthy body. And you always should have you body and mind clean. And your spirit to be well. And always remember to choose the right.

Neonatologist

Neonatologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

A neonatologist is a pediatrician who specializes in treating newborn infants. Physicians refer their patients to a neonatologist for complex and high-risk births. When babies are born prematurely, with a birth defect or with a serious illness, a neonatologist may assist with the delivery and attend to the newborn’s medical needs. Neonatologists consult with obstetricians if pre-natal sonograms suggest the possibility of a birth defect or disease.

Salary:

$200,000 annually

Education:

After completing a four-year Bachelor of Science degree, which may be known as “pre-med,” aspiring neonatologists enter medical school, which takes another four years. The first two years teach students the basics, including anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and pharmacology, while the final two years include rotations in medical specialties, including pediatric medicine. After completing medical school, students complete another three-year residency, where they choose a specialty in pediatrics. Most then complete a fellowship in neonatology for their final years of studies.

Reflection:

To me this job it’s a good job this suits more girls because they are more careful and lovely for babies, so this job would suit a girl than guy in my opinion.

Student Success Statement

"We need the courage to start and continue what we should, and the courage to stop what we shouldn't do."
Richard L. Evans
What Richard is trying to tell us is that we need to start doing good things and avoid doing bad things. In good things i mean choosing the right, like when you are with your friends and they want to steal from a local store, you must refuse and say no. Doing that and you will feel good because they might get caught and will be happy at home watching tv. Doing bad is like when you say yes in stealing and go with your friends to the local store and steal from that store, that's something you should never do. Don't steal because bad things will happen to you if you steal but if you don't steal only good things will happen. So always try to do good any where it could in  your house, in school, or outside when you are with your friends always choose the right no matter what. Be a ctr person ad the world will reward you.

Self/Class Evaluation

What i like about this class is that you can work with computers and learn how to type, and it's just fun learning new things because typing is a very important thing in the future when you want a job and they someone who knows how to type then that job can be yours. What i really like about this class is the student success statements because they teach you something new doesn't matter if they are just 4 words and a paragraph they always teach me someone new and teaches me that for me to be successful in life i must do the right thing. I don't really hate anything about this class i like this class a lot. And i always try my best to do good in this class because i know this is a good skill. I am very committed in being a CTR person every day because if i don't it could set my life to be a very sad one, but if i choose the right nothing bad will happen just good things. Some ways in improving this class is making the students explore more in how to use a pc like how to edit pictures how to do a lot of things is what this class should do.

IDP

My IDP presentation was on Lung Cancer and my part was on prevention of Lung Cancer which included avoid second hand smoking, make sure you are in a healthy diet and make sure you live in a area where there is not a lot of bad air pollution. What is learned is that smoking is highest risk of lung cancer so if you know someone who smoke a lot then they might get Lung Cancer. This benefits me because I learned that if i want to put my life in waste and not life a successful life then I will smoke but if I want to live a happy and successful life the i will stay away from smoking. Sadly one member from our team came late so we had to fill in that persons spot but i feel that we did good and for the creative piece i made a last minute but it was a pretty good video and i feel as a team we all did amazingly well.

Right

"Always do right."
Mark Twain
What Mark is trying to tell us is that no matter what happens or in what situation you are in always do right. Like if you and talking with your friends and after school they want to go buy bear do the right thing and don't go with them. Or when your teacher says stop what you are doing and pay attention, you must stop and pay attention because that is doing the right thing and you will get respect from your teacher because you listened to them. So always do the right thing and good things will happen to you like getting a good grade in your class or getting a raise in your paycheck because you have been doing the right and helping people find things in your job. This is a simple but good quote because doing what you are suppose to do could lead you in a successful life and if you have a successful life then you will be happy and your parents will be happy for you and what a good feeling when your parents are proud of you for doing so well.

Student Success Statement

The 3 Questions:
  1. Can people trust me to do what's right?
  2. Am I committed to do my very best?
  3. Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?
"If the answers to these questions are YES, there is no way you can fail."
Lou Holtz
What Lou is trying to tell us is that if you want something like a starting position in the next soccer match your team has then you need to make sure the coach and other team mates can trust you in playing right and doing the right thing, making sure you play will all you have to be 100% when you are playing, and to treat others how you want to be treated so everyone can say wow he is such a good person. If you can make sure you can complete those steps then you will not fail in starting in the next soccer game you team has or in anything like if you are working in a fast food restaurant and you want a raise in your pay check then you need to make sure that you are asking yourself these questions and make sure you answer yourself in the most honest way and if it is a yes then you will not fail and will get the raise you want.

Kindness

"Kindness is the essence of greatness."
Joseph B. Wirthlin
What Joseph is trying to tell us is that if you want to be great like a great person or great at doing something then you have to be kind. What would you like to have a mean friend or a kind friend who gives you presents for your birthday who is 100% honest with you. If you are kind then people will only talk nice things about you and not spread unreal things about you. This is also a good quote if you want to make friends but you don't know how, well start off by being nice to them helping them when needed you know. So always always be kind to someone even if you hate them then try to be nice to them.

Student Success Statement

"Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you. Never excuse yourself."
Henry Ward Beecher
What Henry is trying to tell us is that we have to be better than what people expect from us being in anything in any form but we must be better than what people expect from us. Like say your teacher expects you to be a B or C student you have to push your self and not make excuses so you can prove your teacher wrong and be higher than what he or she expected you to be. So don't hold back stop making excuses be better than what you are now be yourself because there is no one better than you and to prove that you must be better that what people expects from you. If someone is trying to put you down saying that you won't do this you won't make this you don't have the talent then prove them wrong, prove to them that you are better than them by doing exactly what they said you couldn't do and when you do that they will feel sorry for themselves.
