Duties and Responsibilities:
A dentist assistant has many duties to preform and here are
some things they might do,
- seat patients in the treatment area
- exposing and developing x-rays
- taking impressions of teeth for study
- polishing clinical crowns
- providing assistance in the office with tasks such as appointment scheduling, record keeping, telephone management, and billing
Those are just some jobs a dental assistant has.
Salary:
$34,500 annually
Education:
High school students interested in a career as a dental
assistant should take courses in biology, chemistry, and anatomy. Some states
require assistants to graduate from an accredited program and pass a state
exam. Most programs are offered by community colleges, take about 1 year to
complete, and lead to a certificate or diploma. Programs that last 2 years,
also offered in community colleges, are less common and lead to an associate’s
degree.
Reflection:
To me this job would be a job I wouldn’t want to have
because to me this is like a simple job and that’s what I don’t want I would
rather be the doctor than the assistant. So this would be a job I wouldn’t like to have.
